Matan partners with communities and organizations to offer a comprehensive needs assessment as it pertains to disability inclusion in Jewish life. Matan staff members conduct multi-day fact-finding sessions with local professionals, lay leadership, families, and individuals with disabilities. As a result of these consultations, Matan provides a roadmap to help ignite a five to seven year inclusion journey resulting in greater clarity amongst community members, shared professional development goals and a common language with which to approach successful inclusion.

The Matan Institute is a one-of-a-kind opportunity in disability inclusion training tailored to the specific needs of Jewish communal professionals and lay leaders. Complete with in-person workshops, webinars, 1:1 mentoring and a final Inclusion Impact Project, these programs support Jewish communities in their quest to include all individuals in the fabric of Jewish life.

The Lieberman Fellowship, made possible by Eileen and Jerry Lieberman, is a year-long program that partners with organizations serving young adults to advance disability inclusion. Through training, mentoring, and peer support, participants create and implement an Inclusion Impact Plan tailored to their community.

Fellows gain practical skills, expert guidance, and a network of peers to make lasting change, helping Jewish spaces become more welcoming and accessible for young adults with and without disabilities.

Each of Matan’s free lesson plans not only provides a comprehensive, ready-to-use lesson, it also models differentiation and offers ideas for what to consider when you are planning your own lessons.
